Content Analysis on Intergenerational Program in Selected Journals from Year 2016-2020

This research was conducted to analyse the content of selected articles in the field of Intergenerational Programs published in Web of Sciences Journals from 2016 to 2020. A total of 982 articles were accessed online through the keyword Intergenerational Program and out of the total, 38 articles that fulfils the criteria were selected for this study. Aspects analysed are the research topic, research design as well as the research sample. In addition, the findings were also compared with articles published before 2013. The findings show that the main topic of the Intergenerational Program study is still focused on the impact and benefits of the program to the younger generation and the elderly. Several other topics such as school and university-based Intergenerational Programs, reciprocal learning, students' attitudes towards the elderly and vice versa as well as the practice of generational programs are also seen to be gaining attention among researchers. The results of this analysis can be used as a guide by educators, policy makers and researchers on research trends and intergenerational program patterns. Proposals for further research related to the Intergenerational Program are also discussed.
