Author Guidelines

Evaluation Studies in Social Sciences (ESSS) journal accepts various types of manuscripts, each serving a unique purpose within the field of social sciences. There are NO ARTICLE PROCESSING CHARGES (APC) or SUBMISSION FEE is imposed in ESSS journal.

The following descriptions outline the acceptable types of submissions:

1. Original Articles:
Original research studies providing comprehensive details on research objectives, methodology, results, interpretation, and implications. These articles should follow a structure including background, literature review, hypothesis, methods, results, and discussion. The word limit for original research articles is 6000 words.

2. Reviews:
Critical analysis and synthesis of existing literature, identifying gaps and offering recommendations for future research. Review articles can include literature reviews, systematic reviews, and meta-analyses. The structure should include an abstract, introduction, method, results, and discussion. Authors are encouraged to adhere to the PRISMA checklist for reporting reviews. The acceptable length for reviews ranges from 4000 to 8000 words.

3. Book Reviews:
Insightful opinions on recently published scholarly books, providing a brief overview of the book's strengths and weaknesses. These shorter articles help researchers stay informed about new literature in the field. Book reviews should include an abstract, introduction, brief discussion, and a conclusion. The word limit for book reviews is up to 1000 words.

4. Tutorials:
Original articles offering guidance and reflection on research analysis methods or software usage. These tutorials should be accessible for guided or self-instruction. The format for tutorial papers is similar to research papers, and the recommended length is 2000 words.

5. Case Reports:
Reports that contribute to behavioral knowledge, emphasizing educational value or the need for changes in clinical practice or diagnostic/prognostic approaches. Case reports should not duplicate extensively described topics or published similar cases. Reports demonstrating the effectiveness of preventive or therapeutic interventions are not encouraged, as they require stronger evidence. The acceptable length for a case report is 1000 words.

Case Report Format:

Abstract: A concise summary (up to 150 words) including the background, participant details, intervention, outcome, and implications.
Keywords: 3-5 relevant words.
Background: Explanation of the case report's background, aim, and a summary of existing literature.
Case Presentation: Description of the participant's demographic details, treatment/intervention, outcomes, and other relevant information.
Discussion and Conclusions: Discussion of findings, their relevance to existing literature, implications, and recommendations for future research.

6. Dataset Reports:
Reports describing datasets with broad utility, including the purpose, variables, and data extraction, sampling, and other relevant information. Authors are encouraged to suggest potential uses for the dataset.

Dataset Report Format

Abstract: A brief description (50-100 words) highlighting the dataset's usability.
Data Summary: An overview of the dataset, including its purpose, source (funded/unfunded research projects), and sampling design. List any publications based on the dataset and provide potential benefits and recommendations for further analysis.
Data Description: A concise explanation of the dataset format and content, including a tabular variable description. Strictly avoid sharing identifying participant information. For datasets involving human subjects, provide evidence of ethical approvals. Lastly, explain how to access the dataset.
