This article examines the impact and challenges faced in the field of language, literature and culture as a result of the spread of COVID-19 pandemic. This study uses a qualitative approach through close reading techniques on the latest research articles relating to the COVID-19 pandemic. Based on the findings of the study, it was found that the use of new terms such as 'norma baharu', 'normal baharu' or 'kebiasaan baharu' widely used by the mass media without any consistent standards. Meanwhile, in terms of literature, the COVID-19 pandemic has given new hope in this field. Many competitions, online recitations as well as the publication of poetry anthologies are mushrooming. Finally, the challenges faced in the cultural aspect of every society in this country is the adaptation of life to new norms. For example, not shaking hands, practicing social distancing, adhering to the ethics of coughing or sneezing, avoiding crowded places, wearing face masks and most importantly complying with a 14-day quarantine order if directed by the authorities. In conclusion, the COVID-19 pandemic creates a new paradigm in the diversity of language terminology, a variety of methods in organizing literary activities as well as changes in cultural norms in daily life.
