Author Guidelines
Author Guidelines for PENDETA Journal of Malay Language, Education, and Literature
All articles must be original and not previously published. The original manuscript must not be concurrently submitted to another journal for consideration for publication or previously published in another language.
Articles must be based on areas of research, case studies, innovations in teaching and learning that are relevant to the focus of the journal.
Submitted articles must be free of plagiarism. Inaccurate presentation of facts or misleading information will not be accepted.
The author is solely responsible for ensuring the originality, accuracy, and authenticity of all articles submitted.
There are NO ARTICLE PROCESSING CHARGES or SUBMISSION FEE.
The journal publishes the following types of manuscripts:
Full Research Articles
Full research articles provide significant new findings, implications, and conclusions obtained from scientific investigations and processes that fall within the scope of the journal.
Review Articles
The review articles are described the current state of the knowledge and provide suggestions for potential future research direction in the field.
Case Reports/Study
A case study is a research approach that is used to generate an in-depth, multi-faceted understanding of a complex issue in its real-life context. They summarize a unique case describing a great diagnostic and providing a learning point for the readers. Cases with high significance or implications are given priority.
Large Language Model Usage
Authorship entails responsibility for the work, which is not entirely relevant to Large Language Models such as ChatGPT. Comprehensive documentation of the utilization of a Large Language Model should be included in the Methods section or other suitable alternative section of the manuscript.
Formatting Requirements
Starting from 2023 Edition, we're adopting the APA Style 7th Edition for all references, along with an updated template. Kindly refer to the References section to review the template.
Conflict of Interest
It should disclose any financial or non-financial interests such as political, personal, or professional relationships that may be interpreted as having influenced the manuscript. The phrase "The authors declare no conflicts of interest" should be included if there is no conflict of interest.
Author Contribution
All listed authors must have made a significant scientific contribution to the research in the manuscript, approved its claims, and agreed to be an author. It is important to list everyone who made a significant scientific contribution.

Data Availability Statement
The data availability statement is a valuable link between a paper’s results and the supporting evidence. PENDETA data policy is based on transparency, descriptions of what data are available and/or information on how to access data that is not publicly available.

- No data was used for the research described in the article
- The data that has been used is confidential
- The authors do not have permissions to share data
- Data will be made available on request
- The authors are unable to or chose not to specify which data has been used

Acknowledgements
Acknowledgements of people, grants, funds, etc. should be placed before ‘References’. The names of funding organizations should be written in full.
References
Reference entries must be written in APA 7th edition format.
Similarity Index
PENDETA uses TURNITIN to check for plagiarism of all new manuscripts submitted and revised manuscripts. PENDETA only tolerates 20% of the similarity index for all articles.
