Towards the end of an undergraduate program, students were typically being assessed on their abilities in applying knowledge and skills that they have improved and earned in their studies. Different activities such as final year projects, showcases, and internships might become parts of undergraduate students’ culminating experiences.

In this special issue, we deliberately want to show some of the students' outcomes for their final year projects. Our focus is on final year projects completed by students pursuing bachelor's degree programs offered at the Computing Department of Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris, Tanjong Malim, Perak, Malaysia, either in information technology education, multimedia education, computer-aided design technology education, or software engineering. Comprises of empirical studies or project developments, each final year project centralizes to the purpose of the program and requires students to think about important issues and to investigate the issues further, or find ways of resolving the issues. These students had also showcased their work in the Virtual Exhibition of Research, Ideas & Innovation on Creativity and the Humanities (VIE-Riich), an exhibition hosted by the department in 2020/2021.
