Abstract

This paper discusses factors that influences the use of Information Comunnication Technologies among Science Teachers in Selangor. A total of 197 Science teachers are randomly selected from several districts in Selangor as respondents. For the purpose of the study, four variables have been identified which are teachers’ attitudes towards using ICT in teaching and learning, teachers ICT competence, schools facilities, and support from schools to integrate ICT in teaching and learning. Findings indicate that there are significant relationships between teachers’ attitude using ICT inteaching and learning to teachers’ ICT comptetence in teaching [r(197) = 0.500, p > 0.01], schools support [r(192)=0.40, p>0.01] and schools facilities [r(192)= 0.302, p > 0.01]. This reserach indicates that factors such as teachers’ competence, school facilities, and support from the principal, and colleagues are important to develop teachers’ attitude towards the use of ICT in teaching and learning.
