Abstract

Play is a natural thing in early childhood education (Froebel 1887). To attract the interest of children, learning must be meaningful, especially in children's learning environment. This paper aims to share teaching practices implemented by teachers at the Kolej Perkembangan Awal Kanak-Kanak (KPAKK) through poster presentations. Trainees are exposed to teaching the concept of i-play to nurture (ip2n) which means that the process of learning through play and encouraging environment and gain knowledge and skills for the application of self and community members. Exposure activities like cardboard challenge provided collectively by teachers using recycled materials such as boxes, mounting board, paper and other promises to delight in playing. ADDIE model which includes five components, namely analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation are used as a guide for the implementation of activities by the trainees during undertake cardboard challenge. Some of the games created by teachers and presented in matches involving preschoolers and kindergarten. The competition is held every year as cardboard challenge and got an overwhelming response among children in preschool and kindergarten around KPAKK. The teaching strategy to train teachers in early childhood education so creative and innovate, can cooperate with each other and the ability to generate ideas and fostering the spirit of preservation in early childhood education.
