Copyright Policy

For all articles published in MJLI journals, copyright is retained by the authors. Articles are licensed under an open access Creative Commons CC BY 4.0 license, meaning that anyone may download and read the paper for free. In addition, the article may be reused and quoted provided that the original published version is cited. These conditions allow for maximum use and exposure of the work, while ensuring that the authors receive proper credit.

In exceptional circumstances articles may be licensed differently. If you have specific condition (such as one linked to funding) that does not allow this license, please mention this to the MJLI Managing Editorial. Exceptions will be granted at the discretion of the publisher.

The author(s) of an article published in the Journal of Chemical Engineering and Industrial Biotechnology retains ownership of the intellectual property rights in work(s).

 

Digital Preservation Policy

The Sultan Idris Education University Information and Communication Technology Centre supports scholarly content archived and backed up in the Digital Commons platform. CONSTRUCTION responsibility is to guarantee that publications are maintained and made accessible to future academics, researchers, and students.

 

Self-Achieving Policy

Authors publishing in the platinum open access CONSTRUCTION journal are encouraged to archive their personal website, institutional or non-commercial subject-based repository, and social media as "pre-prints/" under the provisions of their CC BY-NC 4.0 International licence.

Authors are encouraged to archive their accepted manuscript  (post-print) and version of record (Publisher version) on their personal website, institutional or non-commercial subject-based repository, blog, and social media as long as they acknowledge that the article has been accepted for publication in CONSTRUCTION published by Sultan Idris Education University Publishing. 

To maintain the integrity and authenticity of the scientific record, authors must link to the journal's website from the deposited version of their article. The published online version on the journal's website should be identified as the definitive version of the record. Authors are encouraged to verify with their sponsors to confirm compliance with their deposition requirements.

 

Copyright Transfer Agreement

The CONSTRUCTION journal accepts manuscripts for publication that have not yet been published elsewhere and are not presently under consideration for publication by other print or electronic media sources.

The author(s) of an article published in the CONSTRUCTION journal have unrestricted publication rights. The authors give the CONSTRUCTION journal the right to publish the article and designate Universiti Malaysia Pahang Publishing as the original publisher of the article.

 

Code of Conduct for Authors

Journal Pendidikan BITARA (BITARA Educational Journal) adheres to the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) standards on publications ethics. Submission of an article implies that: 

  • The work described has not been published previously except in the form of an abstract or as part of a published lecture or academic thesis
  • That it is not under consideration for publication elsewhere.
  • That its submission and publication in the journal is known and approved by all Authors.
  • The work is the Author’s own and there are no falsifications or fabrication of data, plagiarism including duplicate publication of the authors’ own work without proper citation and misappropriation of.
  • Any cases of ethical misconduct are treated very seriously and will be dealt with using the guidelines issued by the COPE. 

 

Novelty and Plagiarism: 

Authors are expected to present the entirely original piece and should cite or mention in references if content or words of other articles are used. Every author will be held responsible for the performance and fulfillment with the policy to avoid malpractices and breach of ethical standards of publication. Authors should accept and correct the mistakes and consider the suggestions given by the panel of reviewers. Authors should bring in knowledge of editor the corrections and retraction of mistakes or error if have identified even after publication. 

Journal Pendidikan BITARA (BITARA Educational Journal) using Turnitin to screen plagiarism. For the articles that have less than 25% similarity, the article will be accepted for the reviewing process. As for the articles that have 26%-40% similarity will also be accepted but only after improvement have been made before the reviewing process. For the article that have a 41% and above similarity will be recommended for rejection. After the article have been reviewed by the appointed reviewer, the article will then undergo again a process using the Turnitin software to check for plagiarism especially articles that require major revision.  

 

Acknowledgement of Sources: 

During the course of study whatever sources are accessed and used must be mentioned in the article for publication. Authors must cite and mention in references if the content of some other research work influences the reported work. Information received during training tenure or confidential services or by third party discussion then it is advisable to use data of somebody else’s research only after getting a written permission from the source. 

 

Hazards and Human or Animal Subjects: 

  • If the work involves chemicals, procedures or equipment that have any unusual hazards inherent in their use, the author must clearly identify these in the manuscript
  • If the work involves the use of animal or human subjects, the author should ensure that the manuscript contains a statement that all procedures were performed in compliance with relevant laws and institutional guidelines and that the appropriate institutional committee(s) has approved them.
  • Authors should include a statement in the manuscript that informed consent was obtained for experimentation with human subjects.
  • The privacy rights of human subjects must always be observed.

 

Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest:

  • All authors should disclose in their manuscript any financial or other substantive conflict of interest that might be construed to influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript.
  • All sources of financial support for the project should be disclosed.
  • Examples of potential conflicts of interest which should be disclosed include employment, consultancies, stock ownership, honoraria, paid expert testimony, patent applications/registrations, and grants or other funding. Potential conflicts of interest should be disclosed at the earliest stage possible

Penalties and Sanctions

The Journal’s Editorial Board has the sole responsibility and authority to determine the proper sanction.

Plagiarism is a scientific misconduct and is an unacceptable violation of publication ethics. The Journal takes scientific misconduct seriously and will be dealt with promptly and fairly. The Editors-in-Chief, Editorial Boards, and the Reviewers are the primary means of detecting plagiarism in manuscripts submitted to The Journal. Given the serious nature of a charge of plagiarism, it is required that confidentiality be maintained throughout the process. The charge of plagiarism, supporting materials and outcome are only to be made known to those persons who are involved in the review process.

Due process and confidentiality are important in all cases of alleged plagiarism, falsification and other unethical conduct. Such cases will be handled according to the Publication Code of Ethics of the Editorial Board and UPSI Publication Board.

In cases where the Editorial Board and UPSI Publication Board determined that an unethical conduct occurred, the manuscript will be rejected. If the article has been published, it will be retracted promptly. The Authors may be barred from submitting to The Journal for a period of time (one to three years) depending on the nature of the misconduct.

The Journal reserves the right to evaluate issues of misconduct such as plagiarism and redundancy, etc. on a case-by-case basis.
