Abstract

This objective of this research is to study the thinking process of teachers teaching specific subjects in a primary school in Rawang, Selangor. The design of the research is descriptive correlation research and data was collected through a set of questionnaires. This study employs the survey technique using random sampling in order to choose 48 respondents. The response rate is 100%. Both the descriptive analysis and inferential statistic was used to analyse the data. The findings shows that the thinking process of teachers in curriculum instruction is low. Almost one-third of the teachers were at the moderate level and only a minimal percentage of teachers were at the high level. The findings also reveal that the Mean Score of the Science and Mathematics teachers are higher than the Bahasa Melayu and English language teacher in their thinking process. Teachers’ disposition towards critical thinking was the significant factor in the thinking process. This study suggests that the policymaker find ways to enhance teachers commitment level and emphasise the teaching obejctive explicitly. Finally, other recommendations were also forwarded for further practice and research.
