Abstract

The purpose of this research is to identify the profile of teachers’ practices in terms of content knowledge, evaluation and pedagogy in implementing welding curriculum based on competency in secondary vocational school. The samples of this research consist of 156 teachers who involved in teaching welding curriculum from 23 secondary vocational schools in East Malaysia. The research findings have shown that the teachers’ content knowledge on welding subject was high. This findings have also revealed that the teachers’ evaluation practices in welding subject was moderate. Furthermore, the findings have also discovered that the level of pedagogic practices in teaching and learning the welding curriculum among the teachers was moderate. In addition, the research have also revealed that there was a positive relationship in terms of the teachers’ content knowledge and pedagogic practices and evaluation practices in implementing the welding curriculum based on competency.
