Children always face problems in addition due to difficulties in understanding the abstract nature of Mathematics concept. Methods which can attract the children’s interest and are suitable to them while teaching addition assist them in understanding the concept of addition. This concept paper aims to discuss the use of concrete and visual teaching methods in the teaching and learning of addition. It is hoped that the use of these concrete and visual methods is used by preschool teachers to improve their teaching and learning of addition in preschools.
