(Islam is a comprehensive religion that is suitable for every layer of society for all time. Islam also emphasizes the well-being of all levels of society, including children. In the aspect of human development, there are guidelines that have been set to coincide with the level of development of each. Similarly, for children, Islam places great emphasis on the level of development of children by celebrating their fitrah which is love to play. Therefore, this study aims to examine the views according to the Islamic perspective on the play therapy approach that is generally pioneered by the west. This study uses a qualitative research method through library research to find primary information related to the approach of play therapy according to Islamic views. The information obtained is from various sources such as books, journals, hadith, Al- Qur'an and articles. This information is collected, screened and analysed using content analysis techniques. The analysis that has been conducted explains that the play therapy approach introduced by the west has actually being taught earlier in Islam and also been practiced by the Prophet SAW. Among the play therapy approaches highlighted in this study are approaches using movement modality, music modality and puppet modality. Thus, with the application of play therapy approach and integrated with religious elements can help the development of children holistically including social, emotional, physical and spiritual.)
