Abstract

The paper traces the history of fingerprinting, scientific facts about use of fingerprints and detection methods using fingerprints in relation to its practice in Islamic jurisprudence. The article analyzes views of scholars of Islamic jurisprudence on the use of fingerprints for the purpose of implication in courts of law. The article is of the view that according to Islamic jurisprudence, fingerprinting may thus be used courts of law
