Abstract

This study aimed at analyzing the teacher professionalism competency. By employing multiple random sampling technique, the samples were taken from schools considering their three different levels. Three samples were taken from each school based on their level. The all samples were SMPN 1, SMPN 5, SMPN 6, SMPN 20, SMP N18, SMPN 13, SMPN 17, SMPN 11 and SMPN 12. By using random sampling technique five teachers from each class were taken. The instrument was used to gather the data about mathematic teacher professionalism competency level. It was found that there were five mathematic teachers professionalism level competency, namely; a) students understanding showed that the teacher had understood the conditions of where, when,and to whom the materials were delivered; b) teaching behavior showed that how to start the class, speak, write on the board, and the way to dress were accepted by the students; c) the ability to evaluate showed that the teacher had had ways to find how good the students mastering the material; d) communication ability on the second level and the last level from five level of teacher professionalism; and e) professional development views, showed that teacher professional development must be understood.
