Abstract
Nutrition plays an important role in promoting children’s physical and mental development. Therefore, a balanced and nutritious diet that provides all the nutrients is essential to help support the development of young children. Some studies from international and local organizations show that Malaysian children still lack adequate nutrition and nutrients. This study aimed to develop and evaluate a friendly mobile-based application, MyKidsNutri. The study also analyzes the functionality and usability of MyKidsNutri Apps. This App allows users to monitor and control their children's diet by providing suggestions and nutrition information based on the Ministry of Health Malaysia. Also, this App can store and display the calorie levels that the user inputs. The development of this MyKidsNutri application uses an Agile development methodology that involves six main phases, namely the planning phase, analysis, preliminary research, modeling, visual development, visualization analysis, and documentation. Meanwhile, quantitative methods were used to test and evaluate the effect of the MyKidsNutri Application on users with the involvement of 30 respondents. In general, the MyKidsNutri application can help users overcome their children's nutritional diet problems.
