Abstract

Ahmad Boestamam was one of the earliest leaders of Malay Nationalism forefront in voicing the nationalism among the Malays. He persuaded the Malays to fight for the rights of indegenours inheritance. The Malays, as the original natives of Malaya, should be ready and dare to fight for democracy and independence of Malaya. Looking at the political and economic scenarios at that times, the Malays were far behind in all aspects of life. Consequently, Ahmad Boestamam began to make the Malays realized their position. This paper aims describes his role and contribution in the efforts to raise the awareness of the Malays in fighting for their rights as son of the soil. By referring to the to primary and secondary sources, this paper highlights the role of Ahmad Boestamam nationalist in Malaya.
