Abstract

This study was undertaken to identify the inclination and efforts made by high performing Bumiputera entreprenuers to expand their businesses. Data were collected from a sample of 250 high performing Bumiputera entrepreneurs. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis. The results showed that high performing Bumiputera entrepreneurs have a high tendency to plan for business expansion efforts. Most business development efforts focused on adding new products or services, upgrading computer systems, add space operations, explore new markets and ensure current operations carried out with the aid of a computer. Although the study provides a useful guidance to Bumiputera entrepreneurs who are new to the business in respect of the efforts undertaken to expand businesses in the context of the business environment in Malaysia, the findings are still limited by several factors and require replication and improvements in other studies in the future.
