Abstract

In accordance with the recent digital revolution era, the field of education is also experiencing transformation towards digital andragogy and pedagogy. The present scenario has changed as a result of the Covid-19 Pandemic that has swept the globe, particularly in the education sector. Learning that was previously conducted face to face or physically had to be converted to online learning for the sake of learning continuity. It can be seen as the best alternative for ensuring that the students’ learning process would not be interrupted during the epidemic. Consequently, the main purpose of this study was to identify the students' perceptions on the online learning of Physical and Health Education (PJK) in a secondary school in the district of Johor Bahru. A total of 158 Form 4 students of that secondary school were selected as the respondents for this study. The instrument utilized in this study was a set of questionnaires comprising 25 question items and was split into two constructs, namely as students’ perception through internal factors and students’ perception through external factors. Subsequently, the data obtained were analyse by descriptive statistics using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) software to obtain the frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation. The findings of this study revealed that the students' perception of online PJK learning based on internal and external factors were at an average level of interpretation, with mean values of 3.55±1.07 and 3.65±1.08, respectively. Conclusively, the students' perceptions of online PJK subjects were at a moderate level and efforts for higher and more effective improvements need to be enhanced from time to time to ensure that online learning can be conducted more effectively in the future.
