Anthropometric (height) and physical fitness factors (leg strength, speed and agility) are among the contributing factors that influence the achievement of a basketball player. This ex post-facto study aimed to assess the relationship between height, leg strength, speed, and agility of male basketball players under 18-year in Sabah. A total of 144 players who participated in the Sabah Schools Sports Council 2020 Championship were recruited as subjects of the study. The physical fitness test instruments used were the Standing Long Jump Test, 30-metre Sprint Test, and 10-metre Shuttle Run to assess the leg strength, speed and agility, respectively. The subject’s physical height was measured in centimetres using a measuring tape. The findings showed that there was a significant relationship between height and speed (rs = -.199, p = .017), as well as speed and agility (rs = .359, p <.000) among male basketball players. However, the relationship of height- leg strength (rs = .066, p = .431), leg strength-speed (rs = .159, p = .056), and leg strength-agility (rs = .074, p = .379) male basketball players were insignificant. In conclusion, the speed and agility levels of male basketball players are parallel, and higher physical height does not increase a person’s running speed. Therefore, the outcome of the study might assist basketball coaches in schools to design training programs based on the height, leg strength, speed, and agility of the player.
