Abstract

In order to make sure Islamic CSR is being practiced effectively factors and challenges become an indicator that has to be considered to make sure the implementation follows the Islamic values. This is because the excellent performance of the organization is influenced by the implementation of Islamic CSR. The objective of the study focuses on exploring the factors and challenges of Islamic CSR in BIMB. Using qualitative method, ten informan who CSR key players in BIMB were interviewed. Based on the findings of the study there are four factors that encourage BIMB to practice Islamic CSR. The factors are as follows: the awareness at the management level, Islamic organization culture, ethics of the key players of CSR and fulfilling the demands of the society. Whereas the challenges faced in implementing Islamic CSR are coming from the communication strategy, source of information, the management of the human resource and lack of fund.
