Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) was officially established on May 1, 1997. As an institution of higher learning, UPSI plans to conduct the publication activities on its own. A proposal of the UPSI Press establishment has been submitted to the first Vice-Chancellor on 28 August 2000 for further action. UPSI Press was officially established on November 2001. On 1 November 2002, UPSI Press celebrated its first anniversary of establishment.

    The Malaysian Journal of Music (MJM), previously known as the Malaysian Music Journal (MMJ) (2012-2017), is a double-blind peer-reviewed academic journal that highlights music research and scholarship. It is a forum for music scholars to critically discuss issues related to music. Whilst the journal is based in Malaysia, articles from any region with thereotically robust and empirically engaging content are welcomed. We invite submissions of original articles from a wide spectrum of research areas including musicology, ethnomusicology, music education, performance, composition, music technology, popular music, music therapy and music business. Multidisciplinary research that includes music is also welcomed. Our journal publishes articles in Bahasa Melayu and English annually.

    GEOGRAFI (ISSN 2289-4470 / EISSN 2462-2400) is published by the Penerbit Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (Penerbit UPSI/UPSI Press) for Department of Geography and Environment, Faculty of Human Sciences, twice a year in April and October beginning 2013. Its purpose is to publish research findings and academic discourse related to geography and environment in South East Asia. This journal is published in Bahasa Melayu and English.

    The International Journal of Assessment and Evaluation in Education has change the name to Asian Journal of Assessment in Teaching and Learning (ISSN 2232-1926 / eISSN 2600-870X) is refereed journal and published by UPSI Press for Faculty of Technical and Vocational, Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris and published biannually (July and December). It provides an opportunity for those involved in the field of education (science, engineering, mathematics, design and technology, vocational, arts, psychology and counselling and other related areas) to express and exchange ideas on assessment in teaching and learning.


    This journal aims to investigate and discuss issues pertaining to the functions, theories, values and practices of assessment and research as they impact from preschool to higher education (preschool, primary, secondary and tertiary levels). It also looks further on their impact on the community. This journal encourages vigorous dialogue between educational scholars and practitioners. To achieve this aim, papers are published that present current research, theoretical statements, philosophical arguments, critical evaluation of a field of educational enquiry, and integration of educational scholarship, policy and practice.


    AJATeL maintains a standard double-blind peer review process. The double-blind process means that the identity of the author and the reviewer are not known to each other.


    AJATeL is an Open Access Journal and does not charge readers or their institutions for access to the journal articles. The open access supports the rights of users to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of these articles provided they are properly acknowledged and cited.

It is intended for teachers, educators, scholars, policy makers and stake-holders to make the outcomes of action research projects in education and across the professions widely available.
