Submission Preparation ChecklistAs part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
- Author has read the 'Content of a good article' in the 'Submit a manuscript' page.
- The submission has not been published or submitted to another journal for consideration.
- The submission file is Microsoft Word format and images are of good quality.
- All references and quotations has been cited in the reference and article is free from plagiarism.
- The author uses the format and reference style (APA) in the template on the 'Submit manuscript submission online'
- Two documents were submitted - 1) Article with affiliation 2) Article without affiliation
Manuscripts must be prepared according to the MJM guidelines in order to be considered for publication. Authors need to submit their article through http://ejournal.upsi.edu.my/index.php/MJM/home. Submissions should be emailed as a word document with the subject as follows: MJM[authorsname].doc.
The following checklist has been prepared to assist authors meet the submission requirements:

APA6th does not include the heading for the "Introduction", however, there must be a heading to begin the article.

Copyright for musical examples, images, etc is the responsibility of the author. Proof of permission to reproduce materials must accompany the article.

The Malaysian Journal of Music follows the editorial guidelines recommended by the Committee of Publication Ethics (COPE). Papers will be accepted or rejected on the basis of importance in the field, originality and clarity of writing. In addition, the alignment with the stated scope and remit of the journal will be evaluated.
The Malaysian Journal of Music is double blind peer reviewed. The editorial processes follow standard procedures thus:

The submitted article must be unpublished, and not under consideration for publication elsewhere.
Plagiarism checks will be carried out by MJM, but authors are expected to ensure that originality and correct citation processes are followed.
Copyright for images, musical examples, etc, are the responsibility of the author.
A copyright transfer form must be completed.
The identity of reviewers will not be disclosed to authors.
